Dance - Patricia Vallis

Patricia Vallis studied dance at the Rotterdam Dance Academy, Netherlands and at
the famous Joffrey Ballet School in New York. Patricia’s first professional engagement was with Focus On Dance for a tour of the UK. Her next job took her to Switzerland where she joined the Luzern Theatre Ballet Company. Her work as a dancer continued to take her around European dance companies working in Germany at Gelsenkirchen, for 2 years, Munster for 3 years, Hagen for 1 year and then back to Switzerland to the Zurich Ballet Company where she stayed for 4 years. At Zurich she danced many soloist and principal roles including The Rite Of Spring and Afternoon Of A Faun working with many well known choreographers such as Mats Ek, Amanda Miller, Jorma Uotinin and Lionel Hoche.

Patricia is also a renowned choreographer and has choreographed ballets in all the companies she danced for. Her pieces were chosen for the European Choreographic Competition in Hannover ,Germany, the 75th Theatre Jubilee, Zurich, the Impuls Tanz, Vienna and L’Enfant et les Sortileges, Zurich Opera House. Patricia then moved to France where she taught contempory dance and formed her own dance group Compangnie Blablabla which was selected to perform for the Rencontres Danses, Rouen, Dits de Danse, Brest and she was commissioned to choreograph a piece for the Jeune Ballet de Cornouille. Missing performing, she was drawn back to Zurich to dance in the musical Spacedream but also continued to teach ballet when offered a position at the Zurich Dance Theatre and Tanzhof Academy.

After this she moved to Darmstadt, Germany where she danced in the company and taught class for four years. During this time Patricia became a certified Pilates Practitioner. Patricia then moved to Wales to be near her parents and now teaches Contemporary Dance and Ballet regularly at the Rubicon Dance Centre, Cardiff. She has been a guest teacher for Diversions Dance Company, Cardiff and Independent Ballet Wales, Newport, taught Pilates at UWIC and Summer Inspirations at Chapter Arts Centre, Cardiff as well as being selected for Dance Bytes in 2006. She has choreographed pieces for Independent Ballet Wales 2005/6 at the Riverfront, Newport and for Nidus Theatre Arts 2007 at the Dolman Theatre Newport. Patricia has been a regular dance teacher at Nidus Theatre Arts since 2006.
